PPS: I recommend using aiming deadzone, otherwise the center of aim is slight off (more towards the right eye than the left. PS: Man I'm terrible at reddit formatting, apologies for the eyesore. Have fun and post here if you need any help! I'm fine with it running at a low FPS but your mileage may vary. The headtracking is slightly smoothed by Arma, unfortunately I don't think you can do much about that. Note that Arma doesn't generally run at a high FPS, to test this out I highly recommend running a single player soldier in the editor. You can even bind adjust stance up/down and left/right to the Rift's positional tracking, though it's a bit weird. Move the mouse will rotate the soldier's body. The game will be in 3D, displayed correctly with warping for the Rift.
Once you're in a mission scroll left through the menu to the "input" tab, turn off VorpX headtracking. Set 3D intensity and weighting to your liking, I use 1.2 and 0.5 respectively EDIT: Seems to depend on the map chosen. Under the main menu, set the Rift display mode to Rift (not SBS!) Navigate the menus using edgepeak! Finally it works. Launch the game! (It'll come up as per normal during the splash screen, then unify into a proper rift view.
Set Rift as primary monitor before launching the game, mods shouldn't negate this working however having d3d9/ddxgi from sweetfx will. Set FOV (located at C:\Users* YOUR NAME*\Documents\Arma 3 or \Arma 3 - Other Profiles), search the file (open with notepad/notepad++) for FOV (you'll find FOVtop and FOVleft) modify to 1.56 and 2.77 respectively (or use this tool to make a custom FOV). Go to mapping: Click in the top right for each axis (making a linear line from bottom to top, left to right respectively) I recommend setting the edge peak hotkey to something other than middle mouse button, your choice! In general set Display/Monitors to "Use System Settings"
Free program, use to emulate trackIR with the Rift so you can look around independent of your gun!
With it finally working in the latest patch I thought I'd share a recommended setup. I know many of you were excited about getting Arma to work, but man it's been a pain so far.
